Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cody and I decided we needed a little treatsie last night so we whipped up a batch of my Grandma Kay's cookies. Some things you should know about these cookies:
(1) The fact that you're using pure lard won't bother you because they taste so good
(2) The recipe makes enough to feed a medium-sized army
(3) You probably won't be able to eat just one

Grammie's Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 1/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
1 T. vanilla
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
1 (12-oz.) package of chocolate chips

Cream together the shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Sift the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture. Combine then add the chocolate chips (I like to use semi-sweet). Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 13 minutes (unless you live at a lower altitude, then they'll probably only take 10-12 minutes).
